Why is my bath tub's soap scum green? It seems to be soap scum, but...eh!? What is it?

We just built a new house and I noticed that when my daughter was taking a bath, the soap was turning the water green. Now, the soap scum is green. It's a very light almost aqua green but it's there! What is it from? Is there some reaction to the soap by something in the water...iodine, copper? Is it something worse? Why is my bath tub's soap scum green? It seems to be soap scum, but...eh!? What is it?
Perhaps someones shampoo is Blue or bluish green causing this...Why is my bath tub's soap scum green? It seems to be soap scum, but...eh!? What is it?
Its Irish soap
I wonder if that soap is from China. Try a different brand and see what happens.
It is probably something simple like the soap type and color... sometimes some soaps gets on the walls of the tub and when a lot of it gets in the water at once it can turn the water another color... i dont think it's something in the water...

you can proably take some of the soap and test a few theories in a sink or another tube and see if it has the same color changing effect...

i dont think its a water problem though...
chlorine in city water systems will put a green stain on a tub or sink but usually that's only when there has been a drip for a long time. since your house is new, probably not the cause in your case......try using white soap (Ivory)
