How much can i get for an old cast iron bath tub, if i sell it for scrap?

any ideas? .............How much can i get for an old cast iron bath tub, if i sell it for scrap?
probably a couple hundred. Have you considered eBay? If it's in good shape you could get more. Someone might want to refinish it and use as it was intended. Anyhow, just looking at them on eBay should give you some idea of what they are going for.

Good luckHow much can i get for an old cast iron bath tub, if i sell it for scrap?
nothing now if it was a skillet maybe
Most scrap metals (iron, steel, cast iron, etc.) sell for about a dollar per hundred pounds.

You can call any scrap yard and they will quote you their current going rates for any metal.
does it have the rolled edges and claw feet? if so sell it to a company the buys old architectural things...many of these companies are popping up all over the place they will buy ceiling tin to old glass door knobs...
I dont think theres a market for them..a lot of them get dumped in deep lakes.
Scrap value isn't much for cast iron. If it's just a plain bath it's probably not worth much. But if it's a bath with a roll edge top and feet and in good condition you could probably get a good price selling it as a bath. I got 拢300 for one I sold a couple of years ago.
About 拢2, cast iron has very little value. Some scrap dealers won't even take it.
seriously approx 拢1 it is not worth no more than that very likely less believe me
About 1/25 of the gas you used driving to the scrap yard.

My old boss was insane when it came to scrapping and reusing stuff. We busted up the tubs and threw them out. If you knew him that would be proof enough of how little they're worth. Do scrap yards even take them?
A few quid at most, generally not worth the bother. If it's an old/unusual shape, or has 'ball and claw' feet, it may be worth more if taken to a reclamation yard, but they will still not pay you much for it (often the feet alone are what they are after).
In my area $3.00 for a 100 pounds if the tub is in good shape I would sell it old fixtures are hot items right now a good clawfoot tub could go for several hundred
拢5.00 and you have to take it to the dealer. If you hit it hard with a club hammer it will break up easily and then you can transport it. Cast Iron is very brittle.
The price you'll get for scrap metal is really good at the mo. Not sure about a bath tub but a car would probably get you 拢50. Just to give you a rough idea.
you'll be lucky

they are selling cast iron by the ton

stick it on ebay some idiot will buy it
