I have old old Porcelain sinks and a tub. When I moved here they were horrible. I even bought an old Porcelain sink for a kitchen reno.





I coated my tub and sink with a bleach and borax paste then covered it in paper towels then sealed it with a supermarket plastic bag and let it sit overnight. In the morning I rubbed it gently and stuffed the paper towels in the bag. This works great for older sinks and tubs with the finish compromised.





Follow up with a good kitchen wax or believe it or not car wax.





There is a clear glaze paint you can buy to restore the shine to the finish and keep the rust and scum from ingesting.

BarKeeper. You can buy it at Walmart around $1.59. You'll never use Ajax again. It will remove rust and bleach out the tub. Damp the tub then just sprinkle on and smear around. Let it set and it will be white and rust free.
