Has anyone ever had to replace a bath tub?

Long story short, we have a hole in our bathtub and it is the kind that has the walls attached to it, (if that makes sense) and I was just wondering if anyone has ever had to replace one like that, and how much it cost to do it?Has anyone ever had to replace a bath tub?
i have replaced many. the cost of replacing the tub can vary greatly. if you have it done professionally then your talking quite a bit of money, if you do it your self it can be as low as 300 ish or as high as you want.

you have a 1 piece tub unit. probably fiberglass. so start by going out to a home store and pricing out a replacement. make sure that a 1 piece unit can still fit through all the doors and be brought into the bathroom, the original may have been installed before the doorways were. this will give you an idea of the cost of the major item. there will be some other small bits.

other things to consider, there will probably need to be some drywall replaced around the edged of the tub. and you may want to look at a new shower valve if the old one is really old, because now would be the time to replace that as well.

so figure (cost of tub) + ($100 misc materials) + (cost of new valve if desired) + (approx $480 in labor (2 people at 60 an hour each for 4 hours ))

lots of variables
