If a mother gives birth to a baby in a bath tub, can the child develop to become an aquatic mammal?

Since a baby develops inside the uterus, floating in amniotic fluid...if the baby is born straight into an aquatic environment, and raised that way, will the child develop to be an aquatic mammal able to live underwater? If a mother gives birth to a baby in a bath tub, can the child develop to become an aquatic mammal?
I think we have a winner. If a mother gives birth to a baby in a bath tub, can the child develop to become an aquatic mammal?
Babies do not breathe through their lungs while in the womb. They get their oxygen through the umbilical cord and amniotic sack. When a baby is born the cord is cut and that is when they first breathe from their lungs. It could not survive underwater after the cord being cut nor could the cord stay attached because the amniotic sack would lose all nutrients since it is not connected to a host (i.e. mother).

So no, this could not happen, but it would be cool.
There is NO WAY a baby could be aquatic after the umbilical cord was cut. Besides the fact that he/she would get NO oxygen, you ever notice what happens to your skin when in the water too long? Yeah, the babies skin would actually begin to sluff off once the waxy vernix was gone.
Some anthropologists believe we evolved the way we did (walking upright, hairless, blubber) because we are aquatic organisms.

But no, it doesn't change what the baby is however they or wherever they are born.
best. question. ever.
LoL! This is...unique...and sorry but evolution hasn't equipped us - human s - with this sort of adaptation. I think it would take a few million (or more) years to even have this ability - if at all :)
