Is it possible to construct a bath tub using glass blocks?

Would they be strong enough to contain the pressure from the water ?Is it possible to construct a bath tub using glass blocks?
The blocks should be more than strong enough. The mortar may be STRUCTURALLY strong enough but would generally not be sufficiently water tight. If you decide to try this, I suspect you will need to use some type of liner on the inside. I am also certain an inspection would be required. I suggest talking to a city inspector before doing anything else.Is it possible to construct a bath tub using glass blocks?
The glass blocks themselves would be strong enough to contain the water pressure but the joints would not. You would have to construct an armature of some kind to sit the bath in which would, in effect, support every course or blocks from the outside to prevent the structure from splaying and breaking up. You could, I suppose, create a series of 'hoops' similar to those on a barrel and attach them on the mid point of every course. Good luck.
they are definitely strong enough to contain water and you probably would have to seal the mortar joints...you would need some kind of rubber water stop between the bottom and the side walls tho...
if you build it like a fish tank ,,then yes,,thay stay together.
yes but you will need special cement
