Greyish black residue in bath tub?

Hi,





I have a problem w/ my bath tub as it has black/greyish residue buildup...i had never had this problem until a new roomate moved in our apartment...ever since he moved him it started to turn that color...i live in a apartment which i have to share a bathroom w/ a random person...





can someone help me out on what this is? i also cleaned it and the next day he took a shower it was black/greyish again...

I agree with fauxpain. He may also be showering with his dirty flip-flops on, or he is rinsing his clothing in the tub, or he dyes his hair with a non permanent product and it washes off in the tub, who knows!





But in reality you don't want to solve a mystery, you just want the tub cleaned by whoever used it.





I would just plain tell the person there's a greyish residue in the bathtub after he showers and could he please wash the tub BEFORE he leaves the bathroom because he must be responsible to clean after himself just like you and the other roomate.





If you have an acrylic tub dirt seems to stick to it and is harder to clean. Often times people damage the acrylic by using bleach and other harsh chemicals; these eat up the top layer and the acrylic becomes very porous, and dirt attaches like glue.





Recommend to the roomate to buy SHOUT, it's a spray to remove stains from clothing but it works wonders with acrylic tubs, it is safe and works great.





If you have a ceramic bathtub COMET and a good sponge will do the job.





Be assertive! Be polite, yelling is not necessary, but be assertive. You shouldn't have to clean after someone else, that's rude, gross, and inconsiderate from the other person.Greyish black residue in bath tub?
It sounds like something that is washing off his body... like car oil, printers ink, newspaper ink, paint ? The answer is probably in his occupation.
Sounds like a mold problem to me. Try using some type of bleach for a while and see what happens. OR JUST BUY ANOTHER TUB!
is he your room mate or a random person?
get rid of his nasty azz! that's a mess!
